Perhaps, the greatest of the Cafe's "pick-up bands." The Libbea brothers convinced North Carolina banjo master Craig Smith to come to Los Angeles and play with them for a series of shows (three of them at The Banjo Cafe). Hear (the late) Steve Libbea perform many of his original songs (including the Alison Krauss favorite "Fair Weather") live. Featuring Dennis Fetchet on the fiddle (don't miss ...

I grew up with the Constable children. They were my neighbors. Billy, Stevie, Crystal, Andy, Valerie, and mother Lois. I don't know which date I reunited with them at the Banjo Café because they played there a few times. Sadly Stevie and Billy left us way too soon.
Ralph Stanley's band was never the same after Carter's death.
Cardinals are all time
What would be the typical income that the leader of the band would get (to distribute to everyone in the band) in a small venue like this and with an act as good as Ralph Stanley and the Clinch MTN. Boys?
Never realized how much Charlie and Keith sounded alike.
Classic performance.
Charlie Sizemore was the best lead singer Ralph had, in my opinion.
Doc Stanley and my daddy have passed on now, but I can hear his accent and his older sister (who spent many a dear appreciated hour sitting me on her lap and scratching my back). God bless you Doc Stanley and my daddy and aunt, to whatever extent there is a God to grant it!
I saw and heard them in that very composition later that summer in Central Ohio. Dave Evans & Band were there too, and in their prime.
Keith Whitley and Ralph Stanley we definitely miss you both
I could have seen Ralph in Mineral Va if i had not been a stick in the mud back in the day.. y'all get out there and enjoy.. life is too short
In all my 44 years this is the first time I've ever heard Ralph crack a halfway lewd joke
As corny as it sounds, those WERE the days!
When Kenny Wertz left this band, this band was over
I was worried that fiddle player would poke Ralph in the eye.
Saw him many times in concerts especially the last 20 years. Went to his weekend concert in Norton VA on top of the mountain a couple of times; many other good bands there but his was the best! I miss his old time music!
Little boy called Joe really touches when Ralph sings it
Jerry Garcias favorite band and singer. Ralph S.
And I saw that show. The best!!
Where was it at
Id steped down n busdriverd that sniffle laughing basterd that balked off remark well pay him then,if he could ever kno, good enough Damned spattering Specialist
Same tour, one of Ralph's farewell short tours, boosting his heritage man valued the Instrument like KNOONE ever held one with more appreciation a legacy still spanning the globe.
I shoulda been there. If nothing else than to give the Placer County deputy sheriffs some work. 😂
Truly gifted you can make a banjo ring
Where was this?
I heard they moved like a street-gang.
Sizemore REPRESENTING! 21:37

Ralph Stanley was blessed to have had Curly Ray Cline... As we were
Now we can actually get Ralph Stanley on a keyring... Ain't that something

It's amazing how good they sound with out a full time guitar. Super solid.
Curly must have bought some top shelf blow. Lol. Cause you'd have to be on something to play a fiddle that way. Lol
Probley alcohol lol
